Flamenco at the Palau de la Música Catalana

In 2019, after 15 years of uninterrupted programming, the new season of shows for the Barcelona and Flamenco company begins at the Palau de la Música Catalana.

If you have not seen them yet, do not miss the premiere of Barcelona and Flamenco at the Palau de la Música Catalana on March 17 at 9:30 p.m. with the show “Grand Gala Flamenco”, and on March 20 at 9:30 p.m. with the premiere of “Ópera and Flamenco”. Both shows will be on the billboard throughout the year at the Palau de la Música Catalana, until January 1, 2020 when the show “Grand Gala Flamenco” will close the 2019-2020 season.

The start of the season will be marked by the presence of the famous tenor Oscar Marín in addition to the already recognized musical direction of one of the biggest names in Spanish current flamenco, Juan Gómez Chicuelo, winner of the Goya award for the best original song in 2013 and that ends to release their new album “Uña y Carne”.

Oscar Marín, who currently divides his agenda between performances throughout Europe but at the same time does not ignore its origins, comments: «We are eager to start this new season. For those of us who love our culture, it is always a unique opportunity to provide the opera’s encounter with flamenco in the Palau de la Música and be able to transmit our art to so many people from such different cultures.

The Palau de la Música, winner of the Travelers’ Choice award by TripAdvisor, is one of the main architectural works of Catalan modernism, it was built by the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner between 1905 and 1908. In 1997 it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and every year receives thousands of visitors.

The opportunity to enjoy shows of the highest artistic level, such as «Opera and Flamenco» and «Gran Gala Flamenco» in the Palau de la Música Catalana becomes a mandatory experience for all dance and music lovers who visit Barcelona.

Tickets for the shows in Barcelona and Flamenco can be purchased at the website www.barcelonayflamenco.com or at the box office of the Palau de la Música Catalana from Monday to Saturday from 10am to 8pm or up to one hour before the last show. Or on Sundays from 10am to 3pm and from 7pm until the start of the show.
